Creating Messages

You can create messages two ways:
  1. Create a message manually. This way is described below.
  2. Use the 'Message Wizard' to easily create a message from start to finish. How to use 'Message Wizard' is described in the next help area.

1st Step

Click New Menu Option and choose the New HTML or Text or Template option.

Fill in the Message Information Fields

Give your message a name. It does not need to be unique. This field is required and is used by you to identify the Message in your Message list.

An audience identifies the target recipients for a campaign. Select an audience for your campaign. The default audience includes all valid list members. See Audiences for details about creating new audiences. You can mail members of more than one audience at a time, just make sure you are selecting the correct audiences.

This is the subject line of your message.

Category

Select what type of content your message will be.

Forward Email to a Friend

Checking this will put a link in the footer of your campaign that encourages and facilitates recipients to forward your message to their friends with all formatting intact. See Forward to a Friend for more details.

Track Individual Customer Activity

Customer interaction with your message is always tracked in aggregate. In addition you can track the actions of individual message recipients. Use reports to view this information. Turning this on will make your reports more complex so leave this off unless you need the additional detail. By selecting this option you then can identify which links you want to track in your message. You dont need to check this if you only want to track opens, unsubscribes, forward to friends, and complaints. This is onyl for URL tracking.

Test Group

This is a list of comma-separated email addresses that receive the message when it is sent even if they are not members of the target audience. You can also use the 'Send Test' item in the message area menu to send the message immediately to the test group only.

2nd Step

Use the html editor or Notepad for test editing in order to create your message. Choose save when done. After that you can click the Preview button to see your message and check if the content will be flagged as potential SPAM.

3rd Step

Send Now or Schedule will send your message. After that select Reports item in the left menu to see the progress of your sent message.
