The best way to avoid spam complaints


Email spam is commonly known as junk email or unsolicited commercial electronic mail ( e-mail ) which are sent in bulk. It is also a subset of electronic spam involving nearly same messages sent to numerous recipients by email.  Links in the email spam may redirect you to a phishing web sites or sites that are hosting malware and viruses when clicking it. Some may include malware as scripts or other executable file attachments.


When is an email consider as spam?

If you receive unsolicited email from someone you really do not know(unconfirmed sender). You might be wondering how did he gets your email address and  you have found out that this is a legitimate email spam. Legitimate in the sense you did not provide your email address to this person or in any website for subscription for a newsletter and promotions, you dont know who the sender is and most of all you feel like there is malicious or suspicious messages in the email, basically you have to trust your guts.

There are many different types of spams namely phishing scams, Hoaxes, Malicious code warnings, chain letters , Urban legends and many others. 


 TIPS to avoid spam complaints

1. Do not use a purchased, harvested or “scraped” list of any kind.
2. Your sign-up process must be very clear educating your subscribers that what they are signing up for, when they will start receiving emails from your organization, and how often they can expect to hear from you. The best way to do this is to include this information in the confirmation you send.  With this, subscriber permits you to send them email thus it will increase inbox delivery rate.

se the double opt-in method. In this way you have a solid proof that each and every recipient gave permission to send them emails.
4. We highly recommend to use consistent IP address to send bulk mail.
5. You must have valid reverse DNS records for the IP address(es) from which you send mail, pointing to your domain.
6. Using same address in the 'From' header on every campaign you send.
7. Your subscriber must have the ability to unsubscribe from your mailing list by providing a 'List-Unsubscribe' header that goes to an email address or a URL where they can unsubscribe easily from future mailings which they no longer interested.
8. You have to automatically unsubscribe users whose email addresses bounce multiple pieces of mail.
9. Always send confirmation messages to your subscribers.
10. Your campaign must be formatted according to RFC 2822 SMTP standards and, if using HTML, w3.org standards.
11. The subject of your campaign should be relevant to the body's content and should not be misleading.
12. You must keep your list up to date.
